Suspected NPA rebel slain in Camarines Sur clash

LEGAZPI CITY– A still unknown believed member of New People’s Army (NPA was eliminated in an encounter with federal government soldiers in Lagonoy town in Camarines Sur province on Friday night, April 9.

Police Colonel Bernardo Perez, Camarines Sur authorities chief, stated in a report that while performing a battle operation, the 96th Infantry Batallion of Philippine Army had a firefight with a minimum of 5 NPA rebels in Barangay Guibahoy at around 8 p.m.

The body of a rebel and an M16 rifle were recuperated in the clash website by soldiers, Perez stated. The other rebels left.

No death was reported on the federal government side.
